It is very common to find minor mistakes in land records. When you download your Jamabandi (Record of Rights) from the Dharitree portal, you might notice that your name is spelled incorrectly, your guardian's name has a typo, or the recorded land area size is wrong.

If you have spotted such errors in your land document in Assam, here is a complete guide on how to apply for correction online under Mission Basundhara.

Why Correct Land Record Errors Immediately?

If you leave spelling or area errors uncorrected:

  • You will face rejection when trying to sell or gift the land at the registry office.
  • Banks will reject your loan applications due to name mismatches with your Aadhar or PAN card.
  • It can lead to boundary disputes with neighboring landholders.

Steps to Apply for Correction Online

You can apply for corrections under the service "Correction of Land Records" on the Mission Basundhara portal. Follow these steps:

  1. First, open the portal: https://basundhara.assam.gov.in.
  2. Select the service named "Correction of Land Records".
  3. Log in with your mobile number and verify using the Aadhar OTP code.
  4. Select your District, Circle, and Village, and enter the Patta number.
  5. In the correction field, select the type of error: Name correction, Area correction, or Guardian name correction.
  6. Upload the supporting documents:
    • Original registered Sale Deed (Bikri Kabala) showing the correct spelling and area.
    • Aadhar Card or PAN Card for identity proof.
    • Copy of the incorrect Jamabandi.
  7. Review your details and submit. You will receive an RTPS acknowledgment number.

After submission, the Lot Mandal will verify your original sale deed details. Once verified and approved by the Circle Officer, the online Jamabandi database is updated, and you can download your corrected copy online. That's it!
